When I saw the original propaganda poster that exhorted the viewer to "glorify heroic mothers!" I decided to turn its approbation of cookie-cutter comrades destined for the gulag and women as baby machines for the state into a celebration of those, like myself, who are born different and have no choice but to blaze trails through deep, dark woods of fear, hatred, and homophobia.
(But sincere thanks to all the heterosexual couples who obligingly bump uglies to produce the queer, trans and otherwise non-conforming humans who grow into fabulousness—we really appreciate the womb-time!
